The journey to Evolutio

After finishing school, Gretchen followed her passion for the mountains and worked as a ski instructor in Canada. Witnessing people excel through mindset and dedication, she became fascinated in performance and why some people outperform others, even when natural ability is not on their side.

Working in large organisations whilst travelling, Gretchen also developed an interest in organisational performance and the inextricable link with employees’ mind-set. This curiosity lead to her perusing a career in psychology, starting with completing undergraduate and post graduate degrees in organisational psychology. She then worked through the internship process to become a registered Psychologist.

After graduating, Gretchen joined a leading New Zealand consulting firm as an organisational development specialist. She moved client side in 2009 where she held senior level roles in a multi-national agribusiness. Here she was involved in team development, culture evolution, change management, mergers and acquisitions, talent and succession, leadership development, executive coaching and more.

Evolutio
today

With a desire to assist multiple companies in her specialist areas, Gretchen returned to the world of consulting and established Evolutio in 2018.

Evolutio has since expanded from Gretchen alone, to include partnerships with skilled associates and peers. This allows the team to scale up and down to meet client needs.

We work with a diverse range of organisations and have completed assignments in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, and North America.

I first became fascinated with performance working as a ski instructor. This inspired me to become an organisational psychologist, almost 20 years ago.

I partner with leaders to address their people, culture and team challenges, and to seize opportunities. I love what I do and have partnered with a range of teams and organisations, across many industries both locally and globally.

My goal is to help you optimise your organisational and team’s performance, engagement and business success, both now and in the future. I can assist you with team development, executive coaching, leadership, and organisational development.

I provide thought leadership across the broad-spectrum of Organisational Development and Change to Organisations. I bring with me a toolbox for the development of exceptional leaders and team members and a passion to make a positive difference in the lives of those I work with. I enjoy helping leaders bring their best self to work to achieve their goals. I have experience coaching leaders across different industries and all levels, from those early in their careers who demonstrate leadership potential, through to coaching executives as part of leadership development assessment centres throughout Australasia.

My aim is to help create a frame of reference or a view of the world to enable new solutions to be explored. I like asking questions that enable moments of true self-reflection and insight, that at times may challenge people’s thinking. It’s not all about challenge with me though, as I’m equally comfortable working with leaders who are seeking support during times of stress that are impacting their own or their team's wellbeing. 

I can help you with leadership coaching, team development, restorative interventions, wellbeing, resilience and prevention of burnout and organisational development.
